SOP Foundation's Young Achievers Award Recognises SOP Students' Academic Achievements Across Four Regions

SOP Foundation’s Young Achievers Award (YAA) received 184 applications from secondary school students across four regions in Sarawak: Lambir, Marudi, Tatau and Sebauh.
The award recognises students who have achieved commendable results in the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) examinations. Through incentives and certificates of recognition, the programme acknowledges students’ hard work and dedication while encouraging them to continue striving for academic excellence.
As part of this year’s programme, SOP Foundation held an award handover ceremony at SMK Marudi for students from the Marudi region. The event brought together student recipients and their family members to celebrate their academic achievements. The awards were presented by Jafrey Ngabong Anak Pamday, representative of SOP Foundation, accompanied by the Senior Assistant for Student Affairs of SMK Marudi, Abang Median bin Abang Said.
Award handovers for students from the other participating regions – Lambir, Tatau and Sebauh – will be conducted through visits by SOP Foundation to the respective schools.
Among the participating schools across four regions, SMK Kemena recorded the highest number of applications in 2026.
Speaking at the ceremony, Jafrey Ngabong said, “The Young Achievers Award recognises the hard work, dedication and achievements of our students. We hope this recognition will motivate them to continue striving for excellence in their studies and pursuing their aspirations with confidence. We encourage all recipients to build on their achievements and continue doing their best as they work towards their future goals.”
The Young Achievers Award reflects SOP Foundation’s continued commitment to supporting education and celebrating the achievements of young people. By recognising students’ hard work and academic accomplishments, the programme aims to inspire them to pursue further educational opportunities, build confidence in their abilities and work towards a brighter future.
As of 2026, a total of 1,765 students have been recognised through the Young Achievers Award, reflecting SOP Foundation’s continued efforts to encourage academic achievement and support the aspirations of young people in its communities.
