SOP Foundation continued its community outreach with a handover ceremony of spectacles to residents of RH Edwin, Sungai Sujan Mapo, Sebauh. The event marked the completion of the Vision Care Project at RH Edwin, ensuring that villagers received glasses made according to their individual vision prescriptions.
Representing SOP Foundation, EM Timothy Rene and SAM Tommy Wan presented the spectacles to the recipients, reaffirming SOP Foundation’s commitment to supporting community wellbeing and improving access to essential healthcare services.
The ceremony was also joined by representatives from Miri Specvision Optometry, who conducted final fittings and verifications to ensure that the glasses were accurate and comfortable to wear. Following detailed assessments after the October screenings, a total of 56 residents were identified as requiring prescription eyewear, which has now been fully provided.
This handover follows the earlier vision screening and health check-up programme held on 17 October 2025, where more than 70 residents benefited from free eye and general health examinations. The initiative highlights SOP Foundation’s dedication to enhancing vision health and overall quality of life within rural communities.
As part of its ongoing outreach, the next Vision Care Project will be held at RH Buli, Sungai Semanok, Tatau, continuing efforts to bring vital vision care services to more rural areas.
SOP Foundation remains focused on empowering local communities through sustained initiatives in healthcare, education, and social welfare, reinforcing its long-term mission to make a positive and lasting impact.
