[Niah] — Continuing its ongoing commitment to community eye health, SOP Foundation organised the fourth round of its Vision Care Project this year at Rh Untol, Niah. Residents from the nearby Rh Chrmi also attended the programme, broadening the reach of the initiative.

A total of 70 participants from Rh Untol and Rh Chrmi took part in the vision screening and consultation session, reflecting strong community engagement and interest in maintaining eye health.

As with previous rounds, the programme was carried out in collaboration with Miri Specvision Optometry, whose optometry team conducted the screenings and consultations. The costs of the screenings, consultations, and prescription glasses for those requiring them were fully sponsored by SOP Foundation under its ongoing Vision Care Project.

Representing SOP Foundation at the event was Senior Assistant Manager Boniface Anak Anthony from Sg. Balim Estate, who expressed appreciation for the community’s enthusiastic participation and highlighted the Foundation’s continued commitment to improving eye health and wellbeing in rural communities.

Tuai Rumah Untol shared his gratitude, saying, “On behalf of the residents of Rh Untol, we sincerely thank SOP Foundation for organising this programme and providing the free vision screenings and glasses. We truly appreciate the support for our community.

SOP Foundation also extended its thanks to the residents of Rh Untol and Rh Chrmi, as well as Miri Specvision Optometry, for their cooperation and support in making the fourth round a success.

The Vision Care Project will continue its efforts to reach more communities in the coming years, strengthening accessible and inclusive eye health initiatives across the region.
