Just a day earlier, SOP Foundation also supported the Miri District Level Secondary Schools English Choral Speaking Competition, further extending its support for English language development among students across different levels of education.

The event featured lively and engaging performances by students, showcasing creativity, confidence, teamwork, and growing proficiency in the English language. A panel of experienced judges evaluated the performances and provided valuable feedback to encourage students to continue improving their communication skills and stage confidence.

The competition results were as follows:

  • Champion: SK Jalan Bintang

  • First Runner-up: SJK Chung Hua Miri

  • Second Runner-up: SJK Chung Hua Pujut

  • Third Runner-up: SK Temenggong Datuk Muip

  • Fourth Runner-up: SK Pujut Corner

The Best Conductor Award was presented to Helsalynne Vusaq Holinsin from SJK (C) Chung Hua Pujut in recognition of excellent leadership, coordination, and ability to guide the team effectively on stage.

The Best Script Award was awarded to SK Temenggong Datuk Muip for an imaginative and well-crafted script that demonstrated strong creativity and effective use of the English language at primary school level.

The event was attended by representatives from the Miri District Education Office, including Deputy District Education Officer, Student Development Sector, Mr Grispin Anak Sahah, as well as Mr Joseph Ling Tiong Ing from SOP Foundation.

In his closing remarks, Mr Grispin Anak Sahah expressed appreciation to SOP Foundation for its generous sponsorship and support.

"SOP Foundation’s contribution plays an important role in encouraging students to build confidence and strengthen their English language abilities from a young age," he said.

Speaking on behalf of SOP Foundation, Mr Joseph Ling Tiong Ing reaffirmed the organisation’s commitment to education and youth development.

"Education remains central to SOP Foundation’s community efforts. Through programmes such as choral speaking, we aim to nurture confidence, creativity, teamwork, and communication skills among students, helping them build a strong foundation for the future," he said.

He added, "This competition is a celebration of effort, learning, and teamwork. We commend all students, teachers, and schools for their dedication and enthusiasm, and we look forward to supporting programmes that inspire and empower the next generation."
