SOP FOUNDATION BRINGS VISION CARE SERVICES CLOSER TO THE COMMUNITY IN BALINGIAN

Balingian – SOP Foundation continues its commitment to improving community well-being through the SOP Foundation Vision Care Project 2026, held at Rh Budut Bayan Tasik, Balingian. The initiative provided complimentary eye screenings and prescription eyewear support to members of the local community, helping to improve access to essential eye care services.

The programme was attended by residents of Rh Budut Bayan Tasik, as well as members of nearby longhouses, including Rh Mathius, Rh Roy and Rh Boney. 103 participants took part in the programme, benefiting from professional eye screening services and vision care assistance.

The Vision Care Programme aims to improve access to essential eye care services for communities, particularly those with limited access to professional vision care. Participants underwent complimentary eye screenings conducted by qualified eye care professionals, while those identified as requiring corrective lenses based on professional assessment were provided with prescription eyewear.

Through the initiative, SOP Foundation continues to support communities by improving access to essential vision care services, helping beneficiaries enhance their daily activities, learning experiences and overall quality of life.

In conjunction with the community outreach, SOP Foods also participated by introducing Merris Lite Refined Cooking Oil to the local community. The first 200 participants, on a first-come, first-served basis, received a complimentary bottle of the product, while the SOP Foods team conducted a product sharing session to introduce its features and usage.

The Vision Care Programme forms part of SOP Foundation’s Community & Health initiatives, reflecting its ongoing commitment to creating meaningful social impact and enhancing community well-being.

Through its initiatives in education, community and health, sports, environment, and arts and culture, SOP Foundation remains committed to supporting local communities and creating opportunities that contribute towards an improved quality of life across Sarawak.

The Vision Care Programme will continue its efforts to reach more communities in the coming years, strengthening accessible and inclusive eye care initiatives across Sarawak.
